Visiting The Great Wall of China


The Great Wall, China's most famous tourist destination, is among the world's greatest wonders and was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage in 1987.

It is best to visit The Great Wall during autumn (October to mid November). The scenery of the wall during autumn is breathtaking. If you don't want the autumn scenery but want to avoid the cold weather, you may also visit the site in late April or May. The hottest months are during June until August.

After so many years, big parts of the famous wall are now damaged or disappeared. Fortunately, some parts are reconstructed, thus making it the most famous tourist spot in the country.

If you want to tour around The Great Wall, you may visit the sections that can be entered by tourists, such as Badaling, Gubeikou, Simatai, Jinshanling, or Mutianyu.


Important Tips:
- Don’t forget to put on your sunscreen and glasses before going to hike. Protect your skin from the sun’s radiation.
- Check the weather before visiting The Great Wall. Avoid traveling during rainy days. In case it will rain, never use your phone or any communication gadgets.
- If you will visit during autumn, winter or spring, don’t forget to wear scarves and windproof.
- Do not try to climb damaged sections to avoid accidents.
- Don’t forget to bring some medicines or a first aid kit in case of emergency.
